MUSIC
Music has always been inseparable from religious expression since like religion at its best, music marks the limit of reason.
It is the most corporeal of the arts; it is produced by breath, voice, ..and reaches resonances in our bodies at levels deeper than will or consciousness.
Music goes beyond the reach of words.
We seem to experience sadness directly in a way that transcends ego, because this is not my sadness but sorrow ITSELF.In music therefore, the objective and subjective become one - Karen Armstrong, The Case for God, p. xiv

Religious person - a definition
"A religious person is the one who holds God and fellow human being in one thought at one time, at all times, who suffers harm done to others, whose greatest passion is compassion, whose greatest strength is love and defiance of despair."
